Opportunities for Education

Adult Forum

Sunday mornings at 10AM adults gather to learn more about our faith. The topic starting September 21st is "Opening the Book of Faith: How Lutherans Read the Bible."

Bible Study (Thursday)

Thursdays at noon adults gather with small groups of individuals to learn more about the Bible and its messages for us. The current topics are the books of I and II Samuel.

Bible Study (Wednesday)

Wednesday evenings at seven adults gather discuss the bible, church history, theology and more. The topic which runs from September 17 to October 22 is "Mr. Deity.com: a Whimsical Exploration of Christian Theology."

Explorers Class

For people new to Lutheran Christianity, this class offeres a brief overview of the important teachings of the faith. Offered regularly throughout the year.

Exploring Philadelphia

Members from the church lead trips to religious and cultural institutions around the city. Look at our calendar to see what is scheduled.

Sunday School

Confirmation Classes

When teenagers seek to become a larger part of this community the Pastors run Confirmation Classes. Contact either Pastor Kari or Pastor Steve for information if interested.


Opportunities for Worship

Choir

This ensemble meets from September through May and sings anthems 2-3 Sundays a month, so you need not to commit to every week. The regular choir season begins on Rally Sunday – Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Contact Person: Joe Buches

First Saturday Service

We gather on the first Saturday of every month from 5-7pm for informal worship and a tasty meal. See the calendar for the topic of the month.

Jazz Vespers

The Holy Communion Jazz Ministry seeks to serve the spiritual needs of jazz musicians, their families, friends and fans through a Jazz Vespers service which provides an opportunity for jazz musicians to present their musical gifts as an offering to God and to celebrate jazz as a music transformed by God to inspire brotherhood and sisterhood through its near-universal appeal. The Welcome Center

The mission of the Welcome Center is to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. Our vision of "healing though hospitality" means that we hold relationships as central to the process of healing.
